Oludeniz has a very special place in our hearts, it's where we holiday every year and actually where we had our first holiday as a family together in 2018. It was whilst we were on holiday in 2023 that the idea of having our wedding there was brought up, and the day after we arrived home we spoke to a few wedding companies in the area via social media but was struck immediately by how professionally, organised and thoughtful Rachel from Oludeniz Beach Weddings came across and booked with them for 2025.
The initial steps and booking were very straightforward and as we had a bit of time it was very stress free. We initially booked at a neighbouring beach club, and after organising invitations and things (admittedly a bit early, but you feel like you want to get ahead!), we were told by Rachel that this venue had unexpectedly cancelled all contracts. This brought on a lot of stress but Rachel as always was kind and flawless with communication and explained other options we could have and we settled on Sun City.
We asked if we could visit the venue on our holiday in 2024, which Rachel again kindly organised with the beach club for us and it was brilliant to be able to envision how our wedding may look, so I would definitely advise where possible to take a break out there, enjoy the country and visit your potential venues if you can.
Fast forward another few months and Rachel got in touch about us beginning the process for our wedding.
The legal part which you have to do at home, can seem quite daunting but everything is explained in great detail. What we would say is ANY solicitor can act as a commissioner of oaths - we were quoted over £400 for a notary to legalise our documents, and ended up paying a local solicitor £10 to do the exact same job so take that on board. Once witnessed, you just send the forms to the FCO for them to do their part and really it was all sorted within 3 days.
On arrival into Turkey, we met with Rachel and our on-day co-ordinator Tracey and had our whole pre-wedding meeting where you go through, cake, music, decoration choices etc and finalise those. The team are in communication before this though, with all the options and Rachel had been great the year prior for answering our countless emails asking questions, nothing was ever too much!
The day before the wedding we had some family hiccups, so had to do some more last-minute changes...again. Tracey and Rachel were so kind, and understanding and helped us through what was a very emotional and stressful lead up to our big day and we will always be so thankful to them for that.
Hair and makeup were all done with Goldfinger, we spoke to them before arrival for additional packages. I would recommend, take makeup you use where you can, just to make sure it is exactly how you want it, but bridal hair was spot on. Groom's party shaves and massage was great, lovely bit of relaxation before you start the wedding day.
The photography and videography team were bright and smiley and caught all the best moments, and many cringey ones but the video is such a lovely reminder of the day, we have already rewatched it 4 times since being back. You can choose 50 photos after the wedding to be printed, and pay a very reasonable price for additional prints, however we also opted to buy all of our photos digitally as well as there really are so many to choose from its difficult.
We had a gourmet BBQ buffet at Sun City - lots of choice, all of which was delicious and fresh.
Also opted for a DJ on the night, again we would recommend putting a Spotify playlist together, so they have an idea of your type of music.
Our day itself was beautiful, after all the anxiety, stress and worry it all came together and everything we had asked for, the visions of our decor and everything far surpassed expectations, it truly was a wonderful day and we wish we could do it all over again just to take it in more, because believe me it flies by. If you can at any point, take a couple of minutes just for the two of you to take it all in before you meet up with everyone again.
We cannot fault Oludeniz Beach Weddings at all, Rachel was brilliant from start to finish, Tracey knew exactly what she was doing on the day and got everyone where they needed to be at each point. Big Boss who I cannot remember his name who semi-officiates and translates the wedding was great, explains everything and we caught him smiling at lots of points throughout our day.
Simply everyone was brilliant and we would highly recommend anyone wishing to marry in the beautiful part of the world that is Oludeniz to contact the team.
